1. Firstly you have to create DSN for the database.
save & exit
2. Now open SAS Enterprise Guide & write this statement to validate the connection.
libname=Test odbc dsn=DSN user=sa pwd=xxxxxxx connection=global schema=dbo;
If it’s run without any error then you have made a connection successfully between SQL & SAS.
Install the ODBC Driver 11 for SQL Server :-
1. Go & download the SQL driver
2. Extract out the native client files.
3. Open up Terminal window – change directory to the location where files where extracted
It will install unixODBC 2.3.0 because by default SQL 11 support it
5. ./install.sh install
6. accept the License agreement.
7. ./install.sh verify
8. odbcinst -q -d -n “ODBC Driver 11 for SQL Server”

1. Go to unixODBC (http://www.unixodbc.org/)
2. Download the unixODBC-2.3.2 version.

4. Start a Terminal session

Type the following commands, ensuring you are running as the root user and in the directory where the ODBC driver files where extracted.
5. ./configure –prefix=/usr –libdir=/usr/lib64 –sysconfdir=/etc –enable-gui=no –enable-drivers=no –enable-iconv –with-iconv-char-enc=UTF8 –with-iconv-ucode-enc=UTF16LE
